UAE--Part 2

We finally finished our study of The United Arab Emirates today! We looked thru travel photos, browsed the Burj Khalifa (AKA Burj Dubai) website (tallest man made anything in the world), learned a little about the Burj Al Arab (the most expensive and only 7 Star hotel in the world), and saw travel souvenirs.

I encourage the students to investigate further--they were all very interested and impressed by the Burj Al Arab hotel. Your student can check out the website for the Burj Al Arab by going thru the different pages (The Story, Arrival Experiences, Fact Sheet, etc.) of the site. AND/OR There is an eight minute fancy-schmancy video from You Tube (I've embedded it at the very bottom of this page) that students can watch to learn more about it. Either way, if the kiddos turn in a summary or list of the unique things they learned/ liked about the hotel (at least five), there are extra stamps to be had :-) (There are a lot of fun You Tube videos about the Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab, but be forewarned, some of them have racially charged/hate/language in the text comments section.)

Finally, students can begin work on their term projects to be presented the last two weeks of class. If anyone needs a refresher on the guidelines for this project, check the blog listing from 2/1.
