Ethiopia!

ethiopia-flag.gif

We had a great time catching up and learning about Ethiopia today! Since I was out last week, the kiddos have a little extra homework this week.

Complete the first 2 pages of their Passports (the section about themselves)

Complete the outline map (you can refer to page 2 of the syllabus or see below for a reminder about map instructions).

Complete the flag: this can be colored, painted, reconstructed with colored paper--it's up to your kiddo (refer to flag displayed above for help, or to THIS link outlining the correct color for each section).

Mystery Countries: the next two are below (the number of the mystery country will NOT correspond to the order in which we will do it).

Next week, we'll be studying China--complete with a Chinese guest speaker!

See you Friday!

MAP INSTRUCTIONS (also found in overview):

Use ONLY map pencils/colored pencils. NO CRAYON OR MARKER.

Color the country we are studying any color but blue or black.

Color all the bodies of water blue (oceans, lakes, rivers).

Using a different color, color the surrounding countries all the same color so the main country stands out. You can use any color besides blue, black or the color you already used for the main country.

Label the country in ALL CAPS, like this: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Find the capital city--remember it will have a star by the name. Put a star in the same spot on your map, and label the capital in Initial Cap, like this: Washington D.C.
